Amanda Brugel

Tessa Tessa Amanda AmandaPointe Claire lies in that uninhabited part of the city's West Island. Most people do not know the meaning of the word as they believe that it's a distinct Island that lies west of Montreal. It is actually this part of Montreal is more than that. West Island includes the entire region from Lachine to the west. Amanda Brugel is said to be from the West Island. However, her time there was brief. Brugel lived in Courtice located outside of Oshawa, Ontario. She hoped to be dancing at first however due to the speed of growth, she outgrew her dance partners. In a piece in The Toronto Star she admitted, "In heels, I'm 6 feet 1 inch. After I had outgrown my male counterparts I cut off. Former dancers often turn into acting. In the case of Brugel it was her encouragement from her drama instructor at high school that pushed her to take the step she was looking for. It was suggested that she take part in a school production. After trying out, she became the lead lady of Anne of Green Gables. A Fine Arts Talent Award at York University led her to the Theater Program that she attended until 2000 with a bachelor's of fine arts degree.
