After the success of Squid Game's original Netflix show, Hoyeon, a South Korean model and actress received international recognition. In recognition of her performance that made headlines on the show Hoyeon took home the Screen Actors Guild award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actress in a Drama Series and earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress on drama Series. Her hometown is Myeonmok-dong, a suburb of Seoul Hoyeon began her modeling career by working as a model freelance when she walked in Seoul Fashion Week. The Korean version of Next Top Model was her fourth season, and she came out in second place. The international spotlight came to her in the year 2016, when she was granted an exclusive global contract with Louis Vuitton. She's appeared in many campaign since then and has also walked on the runways with a number of designers including Fendi and Marc Jacobs.
